RACE FORMAT – EXTREME CUP 2022 (Updated 7:30pm Aug 25)
Race lineup for Extreme Cup 2022
THE PILL DRAW WILL BE AT THE TRAILER FOR #8 SPRINT CAR – PIERRE GUYON AND YOU OR A MEMBER OF YOUR CREW MUST DRAW THE PILL 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE DRIVERS MEETING. FAILING TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN YOUR CAR STARTING AT THE BACK OF EACH RACE FOR THE ENTIRE NIGHT. THE EARLIER YOU DRAW THE QUICKER WE CAN PREPARE THE LINEUPS.
Friday:
Drivers draw a pill when registering for the event to determine their starting position for qualifying. Points will be awarded for qualifying.
Heat Race #1 will be lined up based on the qualifying times – the top 4 will be inverted.
Heat Race #2 will be lined up in reverse of the 1st heat race – the top 4 will be inverted.
Passing Points will be awarded during the heat races. Points from the heat race plus the qualifying points will determine the starting position for the Feature.
The top 6 in points will run the Grudge Race.
Grudge Race – 5th and 6th in points will race 2 laps, the winner stays on and 4th in points challenges, the winner stays on and 3rd etc. in points challenges
The winner of the Grudge Race will start on the pole and the other positions will line up based on points.
Finishing points for the Feature will be awarded for Friday night’s finish.
Saturday:

Front Row Challenge – The pole position has the choice to start from the back to win an extra $500 if they win the race, if the pole car turns it down the outside pole car has the choice to start from the back to win an extra $500 if they win the race. This challenge is only available to the front row cars.
Points Breakdown
65 points will be awarded to all drivers that take a competitive green flag but fail to qualify for the “A” feature on Friday’s event.
50 points will be awarded to all drivers that try to compete but fail to take a competitive green flag in Heat or Feature action on Friday’s event.
A car and driver qualify as a team. Each driver can qualify only one car. No driver will be permitted to change cars after taking the green flag of his qualifying heat race. An exception to this rule will be in a two-day race.
